After my last post (which was almost a rant) about how parents should just get along regardless of each other's differences for the sake of their children's future, I thought this time around I should post something much lighter.
Typically and ideally, a homeschooling family would have the mother as the primary educator, while the father is the principal provider of the family. In our case the mother is the primary educator and principal provider while the father provides moral support which is as important.

So if you read this blog and you are a bit like us, wanna hang out sometime?
Anyway this post is not about me. It's about the one I call "handyman".
With all the news about local celebrities getting annuled these days, I can't help but feel thankful for what I've got in spite of it all. It is a blessing that we are still together considering we got married at age 20 and he 21, so young, naive, unprepared and I can go on and on about how we were so - to put it bluntly - stupid.
I have always referred to him as the "handyman" because he can fix all sorts of things: - from a busted lightbulb
- to leaky faucets,
- to uneven tables
- to fixing a flat tire
- to building an entire house
Whilst he is not the perfect DIY (do it yourself) guy - in the first place he was the one who installed the lightbulb that went bust, the faucet that later leaked, and made the table with the unsteady feet - he does have redeeming qualities.
For instance I have four healthy, beautiful children with him. Anyone who can produce 4 wonderful kids, there must be something he did alright. I am sure he is an avid reader of this blog and I can only wonder what he will think. Here are other great points about him.
Moral. I do not talk about religious things since this is a financial blog, but I will not be doing the handyman right without mentioning how moral he is. Interestingly, he was not raised in a morally conscientious family. When I say he is moral, I mean he is the type who would apologize and go to lengths to explain to a beggar knocking on our car window why he cannot give away his small change or coins, while I pretend to not see as another comes to knock on the car window to beg.
To my knowledge, he's never looked at another woman, but I would catch him giving second glances to a pickup truck with double cab, a powertool, a billboard that says home depot sale, anything related to building and construction.
He reminds me to see more of my mother, my grandmothers and relatives even though they aren't fond of him. He also reminds me to be nicer and more understanding to my brothers.
He says sorry even when I don't and even when it's my fault. He would go about his ways taking care of me and the kids even when we just had a fight.
Doesn't forget to feed our dog.

He is a good a son to his mother, and a caring big brother to his younger siblings. So good that sometimes he puts them ahead of his own family, because he believes we can always manage.
He has no vices. There's no such thing as boy's night out for him.
Loves collecting junk thinking he will make money off them. He does from time to time.
Has big and radical ideas that are way ahead of our time. Sometimes it feels like someone stole his thoughts because we would then see someone else has just done it.
Loves to drink and make coffee and never fails to ask me if I want one too.
Believes in the best of people and giving them second chances multiple times.
That's him, and the name of this blog was his idea.
Note: This post finally published after two months.
