Lunch was almost ready. The kids were finishing up their workbook exercises so they could eat lunch and have a break. We were doing good time in terms of going through their textbooks. 

Then, an argument starts between the parents (in this case, me and the handyman). It started with two new coffee mugs I noticed sitting in the pantry. They were personalised coffee mugs with the kids' names on them. It was the month of August, it was not anybody's birthday, I thought. 

It's been over one year and a half since I last resigned from my job as an employee to become a self-supporting homeschooling mom. I've learned so many things since quitting from the corporate world. I am certain that I would not have learned these things in this amount of time had I stayed in my job. I would have made excuses to learn new things such as: I am tired, I have a dinner party tonight, I'll do it during the long weekend, etc. I see and hear these same excuses now from friends and relatives who want to have change in their lives but the excuses far outweigh the desire to change.
