"Invest in your future"
"If you want to be rich - invest"
"Investing is the financial smart thing to do"
"Save money for an investment"
Ok, so now I've got the money. What should I invest on?
Personally I feel that these risk tolerance questionnaires are a load of crap. In my opinion it's really just a piece of paper that will cover up and protect the company's butt in case your investment does not make any money, or worse, you lose money. So they make you sign that form that you are a low, moderate, or high risk taker, so in case things don't go the way you expect, you can't sue the financial institution because, hey, we made you sign the paper, see!
What you really need to do is do your own research and make sure you understand what you are investing on. Don't just sign up for mutual funds because their financial advisers sound like they know what they're talking about. What matters is that YOU understand what they're talking about. I'm not saying I regret signing up with Sun Life Financial... anyway it was only a 5,000 peso investment and it's now increased to about 7000 in two years time. But it still goes up and down so there's no telling how much it's going to be once I finish the 5-year contract with them.
The Mega Balikbayan / OFW Expo is an event happening at the SMX convention center on Dec 10 to 11 that offers an opportunity to invest, start a business and grow your money and livelihood. Although it is targeted for OFWs and the general public, it really is an event for anyone looking for investing opportunities. On its 9th year, Mega Balikbayan/ OFW Expo will continue its mission of educating our OFWs and Balikbayans on how they will prepare their future by preservation of income through business and entrepreneurship.
I am personally going to be at this event on Dec 10-11 at the booth of Worldconnect Consultancy Services, Inc. to give advice on study to Australia and consultancy franchising opportunities. Some of you already know that I am a visa immigration consultant by profession. So do grab this opportunity not just for financial experience but also to meet and chit chat with me! :)
The entrance fee for the event is 100 pesos, I was told by the organizers that the money raised from the entrance and registration fees will be used to help the victims of typhoon Yolanda.
Here's the good news:
FREE ENTRANCE PASSES are being given away, simply join this facebook raffle promo.
If you win the free entrance pass, you will be contacted via email giving you instruction to claim your free pass/es at the Worldconnect Consultancy office in Ortigas. You may also claim it on the day of the event itself.
