Another failed goal that I am about to confess: I am no longer a full-pledged Taumbahay or homebody. I go to the office upto 4 times a week and the kids are starting to complain. They don't feel as homeschooled as they used to. I don't read aloud as much and according to them, I just give assignments and check their work and that's it.
Beginning of the school quarter I sat down with the kids and wrote out our goals for the year. Two of the goals I wrote was to post a blog 3 x a week and treadmill 3 x a week. How I have failed miserably. I read my children's written goals and they have been doing way better than me.

Everyone must know by now the benefits of reading aloud to children. It promotes family bonding, improves a child's mental well-being and creates a love for reading in kids. Children's Books. There's the classic Aesop's Fables, 365 Bedtime Stories, Children's Bible Stories, and many more. I grew up hearing of these books myself. The stories are beautiful and filled with moral lessons that will help in the development of a child's character. Character no doubt is important as one grows up into adulthood. So is the subject of money. So why not start reading financial books to your child as early as 3 years old? Surely the effect of that would be interesting. Lunch was almost ready. The kids were finishing up their workbook exercises so they could eat lunch and have a break. We were doing good time in terms of going through their textbooks. Then, an argument starts between the parents (in this case, me and the handyman). It started with two new coffee mugs I noticed sitting in the pantry. They were personalised coffee mugs with the kids' names on them. It was the month of August, it was not anybody's birthday, I thought. It's been over one year and a half since I last resigned from my job as an employee to become a self-supporting homeschooling mom. I've learned so many things since quitting from the corporate world. I am certain that I would not have learned these things in this amount of time had I stayed in my job. I would have made excuses to learn new things such as: I am tired, I have a dinner party tonight, I'll do it during the long weekend, etc. I see and hear these same excuses now from friends and relatives who want to have change in their lives but the excuses far outweigh the desire to change.
